Struggling to delegate? Getting lackluster results from your team?
I can help.
Hi, I’m Kamaka and I help women like you become better leaders.
Leverage your strengths so you get the best out of your team. No “faking it, until you make it.” No “acting like a man.” Just practical, positive management strategies that feel authentic to you.
I’m a VP in the legal technology industry and have worked for over 16 years leading cross-functional teams.
That means that I’ve been where you are at one point in my career. I know what it takes to grow a successful career you can be proud of. There are so many components to master when growing and coaching a team that enjoys working for you. Not to mention managing yourself to deliver quality work that ensures bosses recognize the value you bring. Once you find what works for you, it is all quite rewarding.
No one is born knowing how to be a manager.
Leadership is a skill, some even call it an art, but it is a craft that can definitely be learned. But like any other skill, you can learn the hard way, or the easy way.
I learned the hard way.
When I was first promoted to managing a team, my company didn’t provide much training. So I was pretty much on my own whenever there was a new management challenge.
I looked for answers in books, blogs, from webinars — basically anywhere I could think to get leadership advice. But a lot of times, the advice I got was a lot more about what to do in theory than how to do it when you’re knee-deep into a challenge.
More often than not, I muddled through. I learned from my mistakes (and I made a lot!) and asked a lot of questions. My friends and colleagues helped. But of course, they were just doing the best they could, too. And oftentimes they were in the same boat I was in.
While I was gaining valuable experience from every misstep, it took some time to finally find my leadership style and feel truly confident as a boss.
The coach I wish I had.
In my early days as a leader, I wished there was someone I could go to for guidance. Someone I could work through problems with in real time. Sometimes, simply wishing there was someone who would validate that I was doing the right thing.
Today, I want you to benefit from my experience and have the support that I didn’t. I want you to confidently navigate difficult conversations, become a better strategist and make better decisions. And most of all, I want you to know that no matter the situation, you’ll be ready.
What People Are Saying
“Free to be Myself”
Kamaka showed me that I didn’t have to be anyone other than myself to be a great leader. I could be authentic and use the management strategies that suited my style and played to my strengths.

“Clear Actionable Steps”
What I appreciated about the workshop sessions was that there were clear next steps that actually helped me to reflect on what I was already doing. The sessions allowed me to take stock of where I was as a leader and that was important for me.
